It was at this time that we went outside our usual remit and actually took in an extra dog.  Carole was at the hairdressers when a little Dachsund cross appeared.  This poor dog was in a dreadful condition.  As well as being undernourished, full of fleas and ticks, she had burns all over her especially her legs and ears, they looked very much like cigarette burns.  Her ears were also cut as was her throat.  Our houses were already full of dogs so we cleaned her up, de-bugged her and had all her cuts and burns dealt with and the handed her in to the SBA Police as is the rule here.  We then went in to panic mode trying to find someone to foster her for us.  Carole came up trumps and her very kind friends Anita and Brian fostered Zoe as we called her.  She has since been re-homed  with a lovely family and is doing very well.
